Hi! My name is Peggy Bruce. I’m passionate about learning and excited for this upcoming year! I graduated with a Masters Degree from Florida Atlantic University and devoted my next twenty years to classically educating my own four children, all who have gone on to pursue doctorate degrees in various areas of study. For the past fourteen years, I have been teaching IEW, literature, Latin, Omnibus and study skills classes. My husband Mike and I are active members of Sand Harbor Presbyterian Church. We love spending time with our family and our eight grandchildren. I love studying the Bible, swimming, reading and following various sports. Though I don’t currently have any pets, my husband and I are avid animal lovers.
As a teacher and mentor, I believe that my ultimate goal is to point students to Christ and to the truth of His Word – to emphasize the importance of character and conduct. In reading and studying the classics, I strive to point students to the beauty and truth of God’s world through the study of great literature and great writing. I love the fact that reading and writing are reciprocal activities and that we become great writers by reading and imitating the great writers.
And I am Melissa Schubert! I have been a teacher for over twenty-five years. I have instructed all ages of students from two year olds to eighteen year olds and enjoy teaching every person who enters my classroom – physical and virtual alike! I hold a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education and elementary education, with certifications in middle school English and English as a second language (ESOL). I have been a National Board Certified Teacher in the Middle School Generalist area and hold a master’s degree in Organizational Leadership. It has been my privilege and pleasure to teach students in Atlanta, Georgia; London, England; Birmingham, Alabama; and, of course, Jupiter, Florida. I have also taught in both public and private school settings and have tutored many students individually over the years. My family and I enjoy traveling, running, reading, and serving in our local church. Jupiter is a wonderful place to call home, and I enjoy living here with my sweet family: husband Jason, children – Noah, Jamie, Paige and Ian, and goldendoodle, Theo.
